Job Description
Tasks and Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Program Director and Therapeutic Riding Instructor’s Assistant, the student will be responsible for working with children-clients who participate in the program and for overseeing the work of volunteers (mostly teens) who accompany each client to every activity, whether or not on horseback. Will also be responsible for some digital record keeping of client activities and for helping publicize volunteer training sessions and run volunteer recognition events, family days and volunteer clinics. The student will have to be organized and have good communication skills as well as feel comfortable around animals, children with disabilities and their parents. Since some activities occur in and around a pond, the candidate must be prepared to wear appropriate clothing for spending some time in the water ensuring the safety of the children. Some farm chores are required each day to prepare and care for the animals used in the daily programs. The candidate is expected to work 30 hours a week, spread over 6 days. Wages: $12 per hour, plus MERCs
