What Does Sponsorship Mean to Hinchinbrook Farm?
Sponsorship is extremely important to the continued operation of HFS. Rider fees currently cover only 23% of the normal, day-to-day budgeted operating costs. Any capital improvements (over-and-above that) are made only when directed donations, sponsorships or grants are received that cannot be used for operating expenses.
When we fall short of our needed revenues, we reduce our spending to the basics of feeding and care of the horses, in-house volunteer training and anything that arises in maintenance that is urgent (like snow removal). That means that salaries get suspended or eliminated. When that happens, we have to reduce the number of children who can be in our programs. To say that this is frustrating is an understatement.
For this reason, we are so very much indebted to those who support Hinchinbrook Farm financially, and to the granting agencies who decide that this work is important to the future of these children, their families and the communities in which they live.
