Silver Bell
b. 1986: d. 2019
Silver Bell takes kids out in to the snowy forest
Silver Bell was foaled on June 23, 1986 and died peacefully at Hinchinbrook Farm, Blockhouse, NS on August 16, 2019. A Morgan breed, her colour was liver-chestnut. This mare was part of Patty’s family from the age 18 months. She started being a mount in therapeutic riding when she was just 4 years old. Silver Bell literally transformed the lives of over a thousand people. Silver Bell will be long remembered for her humanitarian work for 28 years. Therapeutic horses don’t normally get recognition for all of the lives they save, but she did win Therapy Horse of the Year from Atlantic Horse and Pony Magazine in 2016.

In 2017, Silver Bell was retired from most of her work, but still hung around whenever kids were there, wondering why she wasn’t allowed to ride with them any more. She continued doing Liberty Training — or what we might like to call “play tag with the kids” until near the end of her life.
Kelly
b. December 2008: d. April 6, 2020
This is her pretty look
Kelly was born on December 18th, 2008. A Landseer Newfie, she was a St. John’s Ambulance Certified therapy dog for most of her life. Kelly loved attention and clowning around. When Shanty arrived just around Kelly’s 10th birthday, Kelly was pressed into service helping to train the new pup.

Hugo
d. May, 2017
Hugo came to Hinchinbrook Farm in 2014, but was not well and we had to say our good-byes in May 2017. While with us, he made sure we always knew when a car was coming … or even leaving! He would bark until he went hoarse if people walked by on the highway trail. We used to think that Kelly was a big dog before this Great Pyrenees showed up.
Snoopy and Blossom Snoopy and Blossom were a faithful therapy bunny twosome for many years and died of old age.

Thumper
d. August 27, 2018
There is a tradition at Hinchinbrook that Patty’s granddaughter names all of the new animals. With the demise in 2017 of Snoopy (who lived a long and productive life as a therapy bunny), we acquired this little ball of fluff, who was named Thumper because, like the Disney character, he liked to pound his foot on the ground. Thumper died unexpectedly on August 27, 2018.
