THER-A-PLAY

Although the Hinchinbrook Farm Society offers ‘traditional’ Therapeutic Riding lessons for individuals, we pride ourselves on the family-centred group programs that use some of the therapeutic riding skills of our instructors and volunteers added to a wide variety of recreational activities that promote balance, coordination, socialization and sensory management.

Our Ther-a-play playdates are intended to provide a longer time at the farm for not only the children who are on the autism spectrum, but to include their parents and siblings so that they can use the fun-filled facilities to promote better family bonding while recreating with other families.  The program highlight in the summer is our 3-day Sensory Camp during which time we offer free access to the programs for up to 10 children who have never been part of our ‘tribe’.  They get to meet existing clients on the Saturday afternoon, which is open to all members of the tribe as a regular Ther-a-play session.
