If you are 14 years or older and can get yourself to our Farm in Blockhouse, you are very welcome to join the Tribe (that’s what it is called in Horse Boy Method™). We are looking for high school and college students who are able to make a commitment to take the training (the first course lasts all day), love animals and love children. You know they will love you back (both the animals and the children, of course).
There are always other chores to do around the Farm, so if you think you want to try us out before you learn to work with the kids, you can muck out stalls, groom the horses, clear debris from the trails, rake, paint, etc., etc. (The jobs around here never seem to end!)
If you are of an age where we do not need to mention age, then you are ALSO welcome to join the Tribe. It is just that you have many more choices when it comes to what you can do. Besides learning to work with the kids, there is:
- some heavy maintenance that crops up regularly
- spring cleaning (a little more involved than around the house) and fall preparation for winter
- you could end up rebuilding a web site, fund raising or
- serving on the Board of Directors
Some people find they just do not have the time to help out in a physical way. For this situation, we suggest that you go to the DONATE PAGE.
To see what training is coming up for volunteers (new and existing), check out the Volunteer Training page under the Volunteer tab of the web site.
